What Is a Song Battle?

A song battle is a head-to-head competition between two tracks — submitted by two participants in the same room — where the community votes for its favorite in real time. The whole room becomes the jury. Think of it as a live DJ battle where the crowd decides who wins, except anyone can enter and the stakes are your leaderboard points.

Song battles are temporary events: they run for a set time window, votes pour in, and when the timer runs out, the winning track gets added to the room's shared playlist as a permanent trophy. The winner earns points toward the monthly leaderboard.

How to Start or Join a Battle

Inside any music room, look for the Song Battle banner at the top of the chat area. When no battle is active, any room member can propose one by submitting a track URL (YouTube or Spotify). A second participant accepts the challenge with their own track, and the battle begins immediately — no waiting, no scheduling.

If a battle is already running when you enter the room, you jump straight into voting. You'll see both tracks displayed side-by-side and can cast your vote with a single tap.

How Voting Works

Each room member gets one vote per battle. Votes are visible in real time — you can watch the percentages shift as the community weighs in. There's no anonymous ballot here: the energy of a room swinging toward one track is part of what makes battles electric. Once you've voted, you can still cheer, react with emojis, and argue your case in the chat — the social layer is as important as the vote itself.
